Cyclone Larry devastated Innisfail in 2006, Maddocks Engineers undertook a large amount of disaster engineering through structural assessment, repair and project management. The company project managed the repair of 225 public and 560 private buildings with a combined value of approximately $80 million.

More recently Maddocks Engineers were heavily involved in the rebuilding efforts in Tully and Mission Beach as a result of the destruction caused by cyclone Yasi working on over 500 buildings.

Maddocks Engineers has recently undertaken a feasibility study into the re-opening of the Innisfail Meatworks. Maddocks Engineers has a 30-year history at the plant and the closing of the facility under the previous operator in 2007 was a massive blow to Innisfail. The work is ongoing as of April 2017.
